![]() Part of the reason I started this website was to keep a record of my last year as a full-time mum. Haven't really posted anything on this as we have just been getting through the uni application process and IB deadlines. As anyone who's been through this with their child knows, it's super stressful! Of all my children Jenny is the most chilled so is taking it mostly on the chin. But even she is finally feeling it. And the stress is manifesting in very weird ways. The other morning when I woke her she was curled up in bed in the foetal position with just a little blanket on her. The duvet was right across the room in the corner. She was freezing! And had a slim memory of knowing she needed to take the duvet off, but didn't know why... Another morning I went in to find out that she'd basically woken in the shower at 3am! I think she was dreaming it was morning, so got up and into the shower and then actually woke up under the water. HA! Anyway, she met the deadlines for her Extended Essay and IA's, got the UCAS application done and now she's just waiting to see if she's got any offers. As I keep telling her, and any of her friends who'll listen, there's a place for everyone. Even if you get offers, then don't make them, you can call and the uni will often let you in. Equally there's always clearing, with some really good uni places, and in the end you'll end up where you're supposed to be! ![]() Now Jenny can take a breath she's basically sleeping til 1pm every day. I'm letting her get on with it as after the New Year I know there'll be no let up until the exams in May. Go Jenny!!

![]() Had a really FABULOUS day yesterday with Tricia Cusden of Look Fabulous Forever who very kindly invited me over to do a Christmas party look makeover. Never had my makeup done professionally before and it was a real treat. Learnt a lot too! She has a range of products specifically designed for older skin and had loads of tips to share. So look out for the vlog which I'm editing at the moment and check out her website. She ships internationally and all products are made in the UK. ![]() In a classically brilliant British Christmas Mad Moment I was walking the dog yesterday and came upon this festively decorated bush! Complete with tinsel and baubles. Just randomly on it's own in the middle of a field, in the middle of an island - no houses, no people live there. And everyone just walking their dog past it, acting normal. HA! Gotta love fabulous, bonkers surprises!! ![]() We are going a bit mad here in the spirit of Christmas. Tam needed a photo of Lily in festive mood (no idea why) so Jenny and I got the Christmas box out and took about 50 photos. This one was the best! We had fun, not so sure about Lily!! ![]() In the same vein, I forgot to post this cute photo of Tam at work with her colleagues on Halloween. They needed to go in a theme or something and I handily had 6 pumpkin outfits hanging about (like you do). I'd made them for the webseries I did Halls Web Comedy. Never thought they'd get used again...! ![]() It all seems to have gone a bit bonkers a bit too early for my liking! It's only December 1st - queues are getting long at the till and online delivery men keep rocking up at the door. It doesn't help that five of us are ordering online all to this house! That's my moaning over, as I also bought into the fact that Christmas is just round the corner and literally finished my shopping in about 3 days. HOOOOOORAY! ![]() On a completely different subject turning 50 has taken on a pleasant note. I've got two school reunions coming up next Spring!! A new Group on Facebook for Class of '82 popped up for the one I went to in Plymouth (aged 11-14), with the guy who created it suggesting a reunion. In a flash about 30 people joined the group and we're off. So that set me thinking...and I created a Group for the school I went to in Scotland (aged 15-16). And the same thing happened - 35 people as I write! So it's all systems go. The last reunions I went to were when we all turned about 40 and the women were definitely doing better than the men, of whom about 80% had gone bald. Which isn't a bad thing, but there's no avoiding the fact it's ageing. The women on the other hand were looking rather good still. I fear that this time we women may have caught up! OH NO! I feel frantic thoughts about going to the gym coming on... I also made a new channel trailer, which was fun. Made me realise I've uploaded quite a few videos. And, more importantly, that I'm getting better at filming! Thanks for reading, and I hope your own festive preparations are going splendidly! PS I would quite like the new Adele album for Christmas if anyone in my family is reading this :-) |
