I turned 50, my youngest child just turned 18 and was finishing her last year at home - and I was facing an empty nest. It felt like a significant moment, as I'd been a full-time mother (apart from voluntary work) for the last 23 years. During that time I'd lived in 13 houses in 6 different countries, but finally moved home to the UK in 2013. I had space and time to breathe, and felt ready for a new challenge. I also didn't want to have a meltdown and for me the best way to prevent that was to get busy.

I also decided I wanted to do something creative, that might be helpful or interesting, and that was quite unique. My kids kept showing me young vloggers, which were fun, but they never really talked about anything that I found interesting, or had the issues I have - with their bodies, the MENOPAUSE, their clothes, their lives, whatever. I also realised that although there are a lot of vloggers out there, there weren't (and aren't) many middle-aged vloggers :-) I know how to edit film, so I figured, why not?
